ACLS 2 Day Course

Designed to provide the healthcare professionals with comprehensive information to identify emergency cardiovascular care and protocols for a patient in cardiac arrest, post-resuscitative patient management, and core cases in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) according to current 2015 Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

Includes the ACLS approach to cardiovascular emergencies, elements of emergency cardiovascular care, ethical and legal issues, airway assessment and management, ventilation techniques, oxygen therapy, intravenous therapy, analyzing and interpreting the electrocardiogram (ECG), analyzing and interpreting the 12-lead ECG, myocardial ischemia, injury, and infarction, electrical interventions, cardiovascular pharmacology, acute coronary syndromes, emergency cardiovascular care algorithms, acute stroke and transient ischemic attack, and special resuscitation situations.

Audience: Physicians, registered nurses, paramedics, certified registered nurse anesthetists, respiratory therapy technicians or any other allied healthcare professional which may be involved with code management. Those who are becoming ACLS certified for the first time or do not use ACLS skills routinely in their duties.

Upon successful completion: Participants receive an American Heart Association ACLS Provider Card, valid for two years.  This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association, an organization accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board of Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS). Textbook Policy: The intent is to  ensure  that Students/Providers have a book to take home for their own personal use over the 5 year guideline period.  Students/Providers renewing during the current 5 year guideline period should bring their book back for their renewal course to avoid having to purchase an additional book.   An exception to this policy is the student/Provider who is a healthcare professional who will have access to the textbook for individual study reference before during and after the course at his/her facilities. The provider manual may be purchased during the registration process.  

ACLS Provider Manual #15-1005 total manual cost with shipping is $48.25.

Upon registration and payment of course, you will receive via email a link to your study guide, a link to videos reviewing the Medications and ECGs, and a link to the online pre-course assessment exam to take PRIOR to class.  All of this helps prepare participants for the class.

Is this class for you?

 Prerequisites: Must be able to interpret EKG rhythms such as VTach, VFib, SVT, PEA, etc. Must be familiar with medications and routs of administration.

Who is this for?

Healthcare providers in the more acute care areas such as ER, ICUs, Day Surgeries, Recovery Room. This two day ACLS class is for those ACLS providers that do not use their skills on a regular basis.
